IMAGING CENTER OF ALTON ENCOURAGING MAMMOGRAMS BY DONATING TO OASIS WOMEN’S CENTER
OR HAITIAN HEALTH FOUNDATION
ALTON, ILL., February 16, 2010 . . . As part of its ongoing efforts to raise awareness of the importance of breast health, the Imaging Center of Alton is offering patients the option of choosing a gift to keep or give to charity.
Patients who receive a mammogram at the Imaging Center of Alton during February and March can choose from a $10 gift card to Target or Wal-Mart or have that $10 donated to Oasis Women’s Center in Alton or the Haitian Health Foundation.
“At the Imaging Center we are continually looking for ways to promote breast health, while giving back to the community. In 2009, we held two Women’s Health Screening events where eligible women in the Alton area were given free health screenings, which included mammograms, for participating. This latest promotion allows us to extend even further into our community and beyond by giving back to other less fortunate women and individuals, one mammogram at a time,” said Susan Piazza, marketing representative for the Imaging Center of Alton.
The Imaging Center offers state-of-the-art digital mammograms. Mammography remains the most effective screening tool for breast cancer today with digital mammography making even greater strides in early detection efforts. Imaging Center relies on the accuracy of computer-aided detection (CAD), the software that analyzes the digital representation of the mammogram image and marks suspicious areas on the screen image for the radiologist to compare to their own reading.
